"These
Days We're Enjoying Crystal Pure Healthy Water Right from Our Kitchen Tap Thanks
to an AQ-4000 Water Filter from Aquasana."
By
Chet Day
I'm
not very mechanically-inclined, so successfully installing our Aquasana AQ-4000
water filter on our kitchen tap in early spring of 2008 in less than five minutes
was a pleasant surprise.
Add
another five minutes to flush the filter by letting the tap run, and before we
knew it my wife and I were enjoying crystal clear healthy water that costs us
less than ten cents a gallon.
Yeah,
less than ten cents a gallon.
Now,
that's what I call a great deal.
How
much did you say you paid for that latest six pack of bottled water?
I'd
bet you the price of a top-of-the-line reverse osmosis filtration system it was
a whole lot more than ten cents!
Although
I don't subscribe to the idea of lugging a six pack of water with me everywhere
I go and drinking water until it comes out of my ears, I do recognize the importance
of drinking pure water when I'm thirsty.
So,
you can image how happy my wife and I are with an award-winning home water filter
that lets us replenish our bodies' many needs for pure water for less than 10
cents a gallon.
The
Importance of California Certification
Okay,
let's get into the details about this outstanding countertop water filter that
we're so happy with here at CasaDay.
First,
Aquasana's products have California Certification.
Most
people don't know this, but California Certification is the Gold Standard
in the water filtration industry and signifies compliance with the most stringent
testing standards in the United States.
You'll
find a lot of water filters on (and off) the Internet claiming all kinds of exciting
health benefits, but, more often than not, many of these units that look and sound
so good on paper do not have California Certification.
Not
having that important certification raises a huge red flag.
Repeat,
if a water purifying unit
does NOT have California Certification, watch out!
You
see, without California Certification, the product being promoted is most likely
more hype than substance.
Unwary
consumers don't realize it, but unlike bottled water, home water filters are
required to document the purity of the water they produce.
In
many states, including California, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Iowa, Texas, Florida,
and New York, it it's against the law to make uncertified claims for home water
filters.
This
kind of strict regulation allows consumers to more accurately compare and substantiate
a water filter's performance capabilities.
Certain
states, California being the strictest, require manufacturers to have all
promotional, advertising, website and packaging materials reviewed by the Department
of Health for accuracy prior to certification.
Consequently,
California Certification is one of the best ways to determine a product's performance
capabilities.

The
Easy-to-Install and Simple-to-Operate AQ-4000 Water Filter Removes...
Let's
turn now to the filtering capacities of the AQ-4000, which are quite impressive.
The
dual-filter Aquasana AQ-4000 thoroughly filters out dangerous contaminants,
including chlorine taste and odor, while allowing the natural trace minerals to
remain... creating great tasting, safe water.
With
the AQ-4000 attached to your kitchen faucet, you no longer have to worry
about having the following contaminants flowing into your water and body:
- prescription drugs
- pharmaceuticals
- volatile
organic compounds (VOCs)
- cysts
(chlorine-resistant parasites)
Now,
let's look at some of the results of the independent lab testing that documents
the junk that the AQ-4000 will remove from your drinking water:
- more
than 99% of chlorine
- more
than 99% of lead
- more
than 95% of chloroform
- more
than 93% of Methyl-tertiary-butyl-ether (MTBE)
- more
than 98% of carbon tetrachloride
- more
than 99% of trihalomethanes (THM's)
- more
than 99% of ethylene dibromide (EDB)
- more
than 99% of silvex (2,4,5-TP)
- more
than 99% of xylenes
- more
than 99.99% of giardia and cryptosporidium
- more
than 99% of atrazine
- more
than 99% of many volatile organic compounds -- like benzene, insecticides,
fertilizers, industrial pollutants, and petroleum products.
Aquasana
is certified by independent laboratory testing to exceed ANSI/NSF Standards 42
and 53.
Does
the Aquasana Filter Remove Fluoride?
The
AQ-4000 that we use and recommend will reduce fluoride by 40-60%. This
is accomplished with the activated coconut shell carbon. Activated carbon will
remove 2 of the 4 fluorine isotopes, which will typically lower fluoride levels
to below .5 ppm. |

Oh,
One More Important Point...
It's
extremely important for human health that a water filter not remove the
natural trace minerals.
Why?
It's
simple.
Distilled water
causes deficiency problems in some people who drink it too long because the distilling
process removes all the minerals from the water, rendering it, in effect, deader
than a doornail.
Distilled
water is very pure water, but for the long-term health of the human body it's
not the best choice because of the lack of minerals.
Well,
I'm happy to tell you that the AQ-4000 removes the contaminants from your
drinking water but leaves in the natural trace minerals.
The
trace minerals, you see, are left in the Aquasana AQ-4000 due to the sticky
chemical nature of the special activated carbon and the processes of adsorption
and absorption. This is why the pH value is not changed (though it can change
slightly depending on the amount of extras in the water stream) in carbon filters
while it's drastically altered in reverse osmosis (goes acidic at 6.0).
