Aromatherapy Gift:Give the Aromatherapy GiftWant to give the perfect gift to a nonperfect person? Essential oils and aromatherapy can have wonderfully beneficial effects on a person's moods. This is due to the portion of the brain which picks up on olfactory messages from the nostrils which is linked closely to what's believed to be the brains emotional core known as the limbic system. Oils have a powerful effect on the body as they are absorbed through the skin into the bodys circulatory system. Gifts notwithstanding, aromatic essential oils were recommended for their soothing purpose by Hippocrates, the Greek father of medicine. Certain essential oils such as lavender, geranium, lemongrass, juniper, sandlewood, and ylang ylang are so relaxing that they can promote sleep. They can be inhaled by a couple of sprinkled drops on a handkerchief which is tucked under the pillow, or the bedroom can be scented scented using an aromatherapy burner. Take note that oils should be varied every four to five days so that the body and brain won't get used to them and instead continually take in their beneficial gifts. When giving an aromatherapy gift, remember essential oils can be inhaled, mixed into bath water, massaged into the skin, or heated in many different ways in order to add fragrance to the atmosphere. You should always dilute oils that come into contact with the skin with something called a "carrier oil" such as sunflower, avocado, almond, and wheatgerm oils. It's important to dilute oils as some are highly concentrated which can cause a possible skin irritation. Natural, as opposed to synthetic oils make the best gifts because natural essential oils have a greater therapeutic effect. Try to use 100% pure essential oils because these are not cut with alcohol and other additives or synthetic fillers. There are a lot of essential oils designed to reduce stress and relax the body and mind. These include chamomile, cedarwood, clary, granium, grapfruite, jasmine, lemongrass, lavender, neroli, orange, rose, rosewood, sage, sandalwood, vanillia, vetiver, and ylang ylang. When mixing a blend for a gift, choose the oils whose aromas you know the receiver will like and try experimenting with each using different quantities. If you dont think the receiver will like a blend, try adding more drops of another oil or trying a different oil altogether. Always keep a record of the types of oils and the number of drops you have used to ensure that it's properly diluted with carrier oil. Keep in mind that every 5 drops of essential oils should be cut with 10ml of carrier oil. Aromatherapy as a special bath product gift is very relaxing. Select a sensual oil or try blending up to three oils to make something nice and soothing which can work as a bath oil. Add 5 drops of essential oil to a 30ml tablespoon of carrier oil and mix. The bath should be comfortably hot and the oil should be added only when the taps are turned off. Keep the bathroom door closed to keep in the vapours. To really give a great gift, add aromatherapy candles that will mix well with the aromatherapy bath oils.
