Aromatherapy Oil:

Aromatherapy Oils and Infusions

Taking 1 ounce of herbs and pouring 1 pint of boiling water over them will yield what's called an infusion. Infusions are an easy way to get into aromatherapy and have been used for thousands of years to treat various ailments. Infusions also include herbal teas, and one can absorb the properties of the herbs while inhaling through steam. When drinking infusions, they may be served either cold or hot in “tea” form.

Infusions may also be added to an aromatic bath for a more direct way of aromatherapy absorbtion of essential oils. You can infuse your bath by using roots, berries, leaves, or herb flowers that have been placed in either a cloth bag and lowered directly into the bath water, or by using your “infusion tea” and directly pouring that into your water.

There are scores of plants, herbs, and essential oils that aromatherapy advocates believe can treat a host of ailments and conditions. Along with infusions and baths, you can also add infusions or herbs to vaporizers for breathing treatments to help with breathing or sinus problems.

One herb may have several properties. There are many herbal guides readily available that will break down the mystery of what herbs contain. You can also successfully blend many herbs together and strengthen their beneficial value.

Aromatherapy and infusions are an excellent method for obtaining and maintaining maximum health. Whether your goal is to reduce stress or to provide relief for a certain ailment, aromatherapy remains a popular and effective alternative method.

For a relaxing aromatherapy bath, try adding fresh chamomile to a cloth bag and dropping it in your tub. You can also make an infusion of chamomile and add your infusion instead. Chamomile is known for relieving stress to the body. It is also may help insomnia sufferers.

Eucalyptus is another great herb to plop into the bath. It's thought to help relieve chest congestion due to coughs, cold, flu, asthma, and bronchitis. You can also make an infusion and drink it for internal relief. Or try adding eucalyptus essential oil to your vaporizer.

Eczema and psoriasis are two conditions which may be alleviated through the use of aromatherapy oils and infusions. Juniper oil is a great herb that will help fight the constant itch and dryness of these two skin conditions. Along with infusing the herb into your bath, you can also apply juniper oil directly to the skin condition and see if you feel any relief.
